About the inventor

Daniel Halbert

I am an MBA graduate of the IDC Herzliya’s Arison School of Business with a bachelor’s degree from the RRIS School of Psychology, minor in Communications. In my professional career, I have made it my goal to merge my business acumen with my background in Orthodox Judaism. I live by such ethical principles as Bal Tashchit, which translates to “thou shalt not destroy” and cautions against harvest for negative impact and for consumption being the only acceptable reason for resource depletion. I strive to bring that philosophy to my business ventures – Noble Patriarch and the  software are the culmination of this journey. My innate passion for diving into uncharted conceptual and abstract territory has defined my adult life. In college, I honed my critical thinking skills and public policy education through debate club and leadership of group projects. I co-founded the original University Talmud program, personally building the curriculum and frequently lecturing for the first year and half of the program’s life.

I went on to learn from a variety of professional experiences. As a product manager, I came to understand the world of web-based subscription businesses. As a business development, sales and marketing executive, I broadened my understanding of start-up culture and how to lead a successful client-facing business.

As a research analyst, I conducted in-depth market research, structured complex deals and published many polished executive reports and worked in liaison with Israel, U.S. and Canada.

After graduating with my MBA, I chose to develop my skills as an independent Medical Cannabis advisor and worked alongside merchant banks invested in the global Cannabis industry and SME’s. I emerged with significant skills in building detailed analytical models that lead to M&A, negotiations and strategic partnerships.

During all of these experiences, and throughout my life, I keep getting drawn back to the idea of tackling the growing inequity of food-waste to food-need. I have studied the food supply chain to understand where the breakdowns are occurring and how we can convert food waste into food for underserved markets. As I learned more about the system failures and saw the problem grow exponentially, I decided to do something about it. With  , Noble Patriarch is poised to be the next major player in the world’s efforts to solve the food waste crisis.
